Front hub bearings
I have an '05 Cavailier LS with 17k on the clock. Both front hub bearings are shot. Is this normal? Reason I ask is it was my daughters car and I took it away from her due to her irresponsibility. Even though it is still under warranty, I'm wondering if the dealer will claim abuse and negate the warranty. I would rather them pay for it but if I have to it would only cost me $100 for both front bearings. (I'm a tech at a used car dealership). I know just from repairing some customers cars we have not honored warrantys due to negligence and abuse of the vehicles. Personally I have never seen bearings go at less than 20k, around 50-70k I've seen. Just wondering if other cavilier owners had to replace bearings so soon.
