Hard Start & High RPM Cut Out

Hard Start & High RPM Cut Out
I have a 2004 Cavailed with a 2.2 L.
Over the past week the engine has become increasingly hard to start. The engine cranks over, but demands that I pump the gas pedal multiple times to start it. Over the past few days I've noticed that I need to increase the amount of cranks and increase the amount of pumps of the gas pedal to get the car to start; once the engine is warm the car idles and restarts as expected.
I also noticed that (while the car is in park) as I rev the engine to 4,000 RPM the engine starts to cut out momentarily, but consistently!
Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing these issues?
