I have a 1989 Z24. I bought it and had to put a new timing chain in...broke the old one. I have to push the acclerator all the way to the floor to get it to start then if I let off the gas it dies. Runs extremely rough while its running. Is this fuel related or could a bent valve cause this? No noise from the engine like a piston is hitting a valve or anything.

 

It could be "a bent valve" or botched "timing chain" job. Check the compression yet?
