Default Head Gasket Help

Hey, I have an 01 Cavalier 2.2 I4. Me and a couple buddies had a day off together so we attacked the top end of the motor to get to the head gasket to change it. Valve cover is off, intake is out, intake and exhaust manifolds are disconnected, spark plugs are disconnected (but still in). Fuel rail is disconnected, distributor cap, motor mount, alternator, battery, all out of the bay. The only thing that LOOKS like it's holding the head to the block is the power steering pump and power steering pump pulley. Any tips for removing them? Do I actually need to or am I just dumb? Also: the pulley is super tight against the spot the strut mounts at, so there's no room to get a ratchet on there. I tried a pulley puller but the pulley just spins instead of separating it from the head. Any help would be appreciated as this is my dd and I work 5 days a week
