I have a 2001 chevy cavalier. It is a hand me down car and it has given me tons of problems from overheating to timing chain to goodness knows what else. So this morning I hit a speed bump and the damn car starts hissing a block later! The hissing happens When I step on the gas and stops when I break. It's coming from the front hood if that helps. I have done some research for what it could be (leaking manifold gasket, new air cleaner element needed.. but more opinions are needed. Is this something that can be easily fixed (and not cost me tons) and what's the danger level as far as damage to the car that hissing has/can do?
