Default HVAC issue

Hoping you guys can help me out! I have an 04 cav i got a few months ago and the vent selector switch has never worked, its stuck on blowing out the front. Since its gotten cold ive also noticed as im driving with the fan turned off it still 'blows' hot air. It doesnt do this while parked, you can tell the fan isnt on but hot air still leaks into the car. Now that its getting cold id really like to have my defrost! Its a salvaged title so the car was involved in a head-on, the place i bought it from 'specializes, in that sort of thing. I did some searching but couldent really find anyone with the exact issue as me. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!

Sounds like the vent actuator. Not sure exactly where it is on a cavalier but usually they are under the dash..
