2001 Chevy Cavalier

It has been hit or miss recently when I turn on my blower for vent, heat, or air conditioning. When the blower does not come on and I switch to the "off" position I hear a noise that sounds similar to can crunching.

I had the blower replaced about 3.5 years ago and I've recently replaced the blower resistor and relay.

Is the problem in the console? If so, are those difficult to replace?
