Market Value
My daughter bought a 1985 Cavalier Convertible from our neighbor, the original purchaser. I have slowly restored the car with a new top, upholstery, paint and body, tires, tank, and on and on, considerably north of $4,000. Have any idea what it might be worth and how I might sell it?
kelly blue book and NADA would give you a general idea of value. might check autotrader.com as well for your area to see what others are asking for the same car. as far as selling it, you can use local craigslist, autotrader, newspaper
Hi kennylewis,
Welcome to the Chevy Forums.
The good news is that convertibles generally hold value very well, and are extremely popular.
It's been my experience that any vehicle improved over book value won't generally sell for that much more than book value, but it will sell faster.
Don't let this "faltering economy" crap deter you. If people can afford WaWa, Dunkin' Donuts,7/11; if they can cram the roads with registered, insured, cars full of gas in the MIDDLE OF A WORK DAY, if they can suck up every city parking spot spending hundreds of dollars a night clubbing on the weekends, they can also afford your car.
