Default Need help! my engine is knocking after replacing timing chain

so i bought a 2000 cavalier 2.2l a couple days ago and the guy i got it from told me it needed a new motor but it was still running and driving it was just making a slapping sound on the passenger side so i decided to take a look at the timing chain. well once i got it all apart i realized that the timing chain tensioner was broke in half. the chain was still fine but the camshaft sprocket was off by one tooth so i realigned that and replaced the sprockets and chain got it all put back together and started it up tonight and now its making loud ticking/knocking noise by the #4 cylinder sounds like its under the valve cover also the engine feels like it doesnt have power when i give it gas and it wants to die after revving it up. does anyone know what this could possibly be? does this sound like i have the timing off? or is it a bent valve? if anyone could help me out i would really appreciate it.
