Default Newbie really screwed this one......

Autozone told me my PCV value was inside this "plastic nut" on the side of my crankcase. (Never seen one there before.)

Anyway, when I tried to wrench it off, it responded like it was "rotten," i.e., like melted butter.

So can anyone tell me (1) how I get this broken plastic "nut" off and (2) what part do I ask for when I go buy a new one and (3) is my PCV value really inside the rotten plastic casing?

Thanks as always to the helpful vets on this forum.

Did you try a pair of "vise-grips" or something like it?

I am new to cavaliers, but does the piece screw in and out? supposed to?

there are other options, but are messing and could possibly cause little parts to go into your motor, so I won't suggest those.
