No heat while driving 93 Cavalier
I have a stock 1993 Cavalier 2.2. In the past it had an overheating problem that resulted in a cracked head. After replacing the head, I replaced the heater core (it was leaky), the radiator (clogged), and the water pump (just because).
If you start the car and just let it run, the temperature rises normally, with the cooling fan kicking on and off when it should. Kick on the heater and it works great. Head out on the highway in cold weather though, and the temp guage falls like a rock and you get no heat. One odd thing I have found is that, with the radiator cap removed, coolant will come gushing out when the engine warms up.
Any help to resolve this is much appreciated because, BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!
