Repairs to a 2000 Cavalier
I have a 2000 cavalier, which has been through hell. I was in a accident a year ago where a car hit my wheel crushing part of the door and fender. The wheel bearing is starting to go. What years are compatiable to replace the wheel bearing? How easy of a job is this... I am not able to afford the shop time so it will be a back yard repair.
My poor little car also had it's transmission pan torn off shearing a bolt off, so when I replaced the pan it was not a proper seal and still leaks to this day. By now I am almost positive the transmission needs to go or be replaced. Is making my automatic into a standard a very complex job? Should I be saving up to pay a lisc. mechanic or will the moderate level of experience my friends have be alright for the job?
