Default Short Ram/Cold air intake

Ever since installing my Short Ram intake, ive noticed a decrease in performance mainly the car bogs down. I talked to someone today who told me the problem is that the MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor) is taking alot more air and either I need my ECU/Computer modified or a after market MAF. Is this true? and if there is a after market MAF for this kind of setup anyone have a part number?

I do not see how an aftermarket MAF could fix it, the problem resides in ECU which has fuel maps built for restrictive intake.
So yes, you should have your ECU modified.
