Default This sounds totally crazy

On Wednesday it was kind of cold out so I turned on the heat for the drive in to work. 5 minute drive. 2002 Cavalier 2.2. Left it in the heat position but the afternoon heated up. Forgot to move the **** from the red to blue and left it there for minutes.

The air conditioner was fine up until then, now it doesn't cool. Is there any possibility that by running the air conditioner with the **** set for hot, I screwed something up or ran all the refrigerant out? I'll get it fixed but it's the middle of the month and I won't have the money for a couple of weeks.
