steering lines
2002 cavalier Ls
I replaced the rack and steering lines about a year ago. The new lines are starting to leak at the rack. I know you can't make them too tight or you crush the o rings, don't tighten them enough and they loosen up and leak which may be my case. these are not fun to change! Does anyone know the torque specs on the line nuts going into the rack? Also, does factory put some kine of lock tight on them to keep them from loosening cause the original ones were pretty hard to crack open and i can't imagine they would be that tight to where they didn't crush the o ring. My plan is to put new o rings on the lines and tighten back up. I had also heard that sometimes the regular rubber o rings can break down from the fluid and cause leaks. Can you get o rings that aren't rubber? any help is appreciated, thankyou
