Default Suspension NOISE!!

New to the forum scene, but I have serious noise that is driving me crazy. 2000 cavalier, 2D, manual with 156K. Car has been good to me up until now. I'm at a spot when I regularly go over speed bumps and I'm not like most that hit them at 30mph. But I have come to notice that 5-10 MPH, I get a nasty knock from the right side only. Been going round and round chasing it and still have not reached a solution. In attempt to solve the issue, I replace the struts and lower control arms, and since that I have a bad vibration at 60-75 mph. Car has been aligned and the wheels have been balanced and rechecked. If I brake hard, I get the same knocking sound. Sounds like metal to metal. NEED SOME ASSISTANCE. PLEASE HELP.

Sounds like it could be a worn out bushing. Probably in the stabilizer bar.

another possibility is worn engine mounts or engine mount strut.

Okay well... I'm 100% sure there is no stabilizer bar. There is absolutely nothing on the lower control arm. I would entertain the idea that it is a bushing, but trying to figure out were is difficult. Something I noticed within the past few days..... If I downshift and let the engine slow the car down, I her the knock or "thud". It happens ONE TIME ONLY in that stopping period. I have to be moving again with some acceleration for it to "reset" and then when applying the brake or downshift will the noise come back. So, I know something is moving back and forth, control arms are brand new, I put them in 2 or 3 weeks ago so they are solid, however it was after I put them in when I noticed the vibration at 60 mph.

you don't care that the stabilizer links are missing? Is the bar turned up at angle hitting something?
