Default Swapping to cobalt engine?

I have racecar built from a 1994 Cavalier. It currently has the LN2 2.2l engine and 5 speed standard transmission. I was wondering if it's possible that I'd be able to swap to the L61 2.2l from a 2005 Cobalt? Would this be at all possible? Would it bolt up to my transmission? Thanks.

No can do. The LN2 2.2L has the exhaust in the front, intake in rear. Pretty sure the old Cavaliers used a clutch cable, not hydraulics. For the kind of money you are talking about just buy a good 2003 with the 2.2 Ecotec L61 mill.

Thanks for the answer. Would the 2.2l engine and transmission from an 03 Cavalier fit and match the mounts in my 94?
