Default Trouble shooting windshield washers for a 2002 Cavalier

I have been troubleshooting my windshield washers and I have come to this conclusion. I filled the reservoir to the top and nothing ran out the bottom. Tried using them and it ran out the bottom and squirted up and over the battery. The only thing I can figure is a hose is either off or loose for it to do that. Now the problem is getting to it. I have heard two ways by two people. One going under neath the car and the pump is supposed to be right at the bottom. The other told me that they will have to take the wheel well out to get at the reservoir and the tubing. Has anyone ever worked on them . Sure don't make things easy. I went to the junk yard and got a reservoir in case.

I ended up replacing my hose once since the battery rubbed the hose through or some battery acid ate away at it. At any rate, for the new hose, I put some small plastic tubing around it (the kind for wires and stuff)... so if it did eat/rub through, it would take longer.

I believe I blindly reached up from underneath the car and felt around and removed/put the new hose on. Remove the battery from the top if that will help. You should see it better then.

I no longer have the car so I can't examine it.

Thank you so much for your input. On the side of the battery the tubing was hitting the battery and it put a hole in it. Got it fixed and finally have clean windows. Those trucks that pass really do a job on the window. Really appreciated your ideas.
