Default whirring noise while driving straight

2002 manual cavalier makes a whirring noise while driving and keeping the steering wheel straight. When turned left or right the noise stops, however it takes more turning to the left to stop the noise then when turning the wheel to the right. I do not know what this is.....the tires do not wobble while up on the jack tie rods are good brakes could be changed but not bad. The tires are good but have had problems in the past with ball bearings. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be? The noise is coming what seems to be either from the front center or the front left.

I would check the wheel bearings first if not that then try the cv shafts... sometimes you can put it on jackstands and rotate the tires while your under the vehicle to pinpoint where the noise is coming from. Let us know how it turns out!
