Default 1968 Chevelle SS with 1969 Parts

Hello,
I've noticed something interesting when I started replacing parts on my Chevelle. Everything is numbers matching but all my parts show as 1969. It is rare or unusual for an original 1968 Chevelle SS to have all 1969 parts?
Thank you

How can you tell all your parts are 1969? Which parts are you talking about? They usually don't stamp a date on parts. Yes it could happen. Your 1968 could have been built at the end of the 1968 production run when they were already making parts for the 1969 which is basically the same car.

The rims are coded for 1969 OA and YA /When I replaced the alternator I realized the setup on the front of the motor didn't match the 1968. It took me a little while looking up parts before I realized that.

Could it have been changed by a previous owner before you bought it?
