Hello all, I'm new here but I have a question for a frame off restoration job I'm currently working on which is a 1985 El Camino. I'm swapping in a 5.7 vortec and leaving the fuel injection also swapping the computer and wiring harness. I'm wondering is it possible to delete the EL60 tranny and convert to a non electronic transmission? For example a 350 turbo?

 

yeah you don't have to do anything different except leave the old trans computer hooked up it will know its in park when you go to start it
