Advice on a 1975 el Camino?
Hello everyone- I am looking for some advice on buying a 1975 Standard. Not so much for restoration but as a decently reliable daily driver that I can teach my kid basic mechanics stuff on.
Here's the info from the seller, I've got a test drive planned for it next week:
-350 SBC bored .30 over
-th350 automatic transmission
(both rebuilt about 7000 miles ago)
-no ac, missing compressor
-Interior/exterior good condition
-Left turn signal and driver window don't work
-Newer shocks- 2yrs old
-Power steering needs a new pump
-Starts and runs good
-No rust or significant body damage, just the rear drivers side is a little beat up
-no emissions are required where the seller lives, but will be required based on where I live so that might be a potential issue
Other than checking if the above stuff is all true- is this a decent option? What additional questions should I ask and/or what should I look at during the test drive to make sure I don't end up with expensive problems?
Any insight/advice is much appreciated! Thank you for reading.
