Default Temperature warning light sensor location

I have a 350 SBC in my 64 chevelle. The temperature warning is coming on, but I checked the temperature at the water neck and it is reading 190F. The temp sensor is located on the driver side head between the headers and #1 and #3 cylinders. I was thinking of moving the temp sensor to the intake next to the water neck?

could this be because the headers? temperature at cylinder #1 reads about 250F and #3 400F.

thanks
