1986 C10 350 - Power cut out after running fine
Hey everybody - greetings from Southeast Wisconsin.
Recently picked up a 1986 Chevy C10 in great shape. Has a 350 with a 700R4 transmission. This is my first truck project (I'm mostly a motorcycle guy) so go easy on me. I've done some minor things like put a new air filter on and replace the ignition switch (when I bought it, you could start it without a key).
Yesterday I was working on it, and it had been running just fine all day. In fact I had just started it up 5 minutes before this happened: I turned the key, it gave a crank or two like it was about to start, then everything just completely cut out. I'm talking everything - no power anywhere. No dash light, no radio, no headlights, turning the key does nothing.
I checked the fuses - everything is good. Battery is in good shape, although I have a backup just incase. Like I said, I'm new to the truck world, so any help would be much appreciated. I know it's an electrical issue, I just don't know what it might be. Thanks!
Ryan
