Default Chevvy C30 with New Process NP435 transmission

Hi Guys (and Gals).
Came across various references to G.M's use of the New Process 435 transmission, seems to be restricted to around the 1968-1970/2 era, before standardising on the SM465.
Some parts houses over your way still show listings for them. Am particularly interested in the CLOSE RATIO, NP435 (4.56:1 FIRST Gear version) seems to be some conjecture as to whether they were an all synchro box like the NP445. I have several 435 models here, mostly around that era and am looking at doing one up, IF I can get hold of an input shaft and input shaft housing to suit Chevvy.
Not real good at internet research but can follow links OK, so if a few of your guys around my age remember them, or had anything to do with those animals, would like to glean a bit of info.
Many Thanks,
Dave64 (Australia)

Default NP435 transmissions

Hi All, Still trying to find out more about the above transmission. Have emailed several parts mobs over your way but as yet no replies, in fact not even any leads forthcoming on availability of parts etc.
Must have made quite a few C-trucks with them in between 1968 and say, 1972, just going on sheer volumes that Chevvy produced.
Have the project vehicle at home now, but reluctant to start tearing it down until I find out about parts availability for Chevvy's version of the New Process box.
Thanks Dave64

Default More Info

Trying to sort out the wheat from the chaff, came up with something on an obscure forum trying to I.D. this transmission.
Seems the correct GMC/Chev designation was NP435GA.
Going by what was written, this particular transmission was used behind the VEE-SIX engine of the time, in both GMC as well as Chevvy guise.
Any further info?

I know it is a little late but I thought I would share. I cant help you identify anything, but I can help clarify what chevy models it came on.
I have a 69 C30 that has the 292 I-6, and it has an NP435. I know its a rare combination, but i got one
