Default Diesel Cluster differences 82-87?

So an 83 Blazer diesel hit the you pull yard here a couple weeks ago and I went to pick bits off it today as it had a tilt in it. But somebody cobbed in both cluster and column as the truck is a manual but it had indicator and column lever for an automatic.

The cluster was sort of jammed in and I had to pry the dash metal down at the lower left side to get it out.

Turning it over, it has the speed sensor on it like a TBI equipped gas truck would have. The speedo needle is faded while the fuel gauge is not.

It makes me wonder do I have a gas cluster with the diesel fuel gauge in it? What else would be different? would the 83 6.2 need or use that sensor? It was plugged into something in the dash.

It would make sense for it to be a 1989-ish cluster also and be sort of jammed in, I am thinking they changed the dash when the wiper control went to the turn signal lever and thats why this didn't fit.
