Maybe my picture will post. I was thinking of replacing the single cable that feeds the rear emergency shoe mechanism but the threaded rod has to be cleaned up with a die before I can get the nut off.

I tried to take off the nut, but it ran into so much trash that it got stuck.

I might try taking off a water pump stud nut, and seeing if it is that size and thread pitch. The nuts is 1/2" across the flats.

So if someone could pass that information along that would be great.

Maybe take a wire wheel in a drill to it after some more soaking. That looks like a challenge for sure!

 

Looks about 5/16-18 but I can't be sure. Wire brush, vinegar, and some bolt loosener.If you find the proper diameter, IIRC,
it is the Coarse Standard thread in that size. A sharp screw or nail will help chase the crud off the threads.
