06 cobalt p1810 Transmission Fluid Pressure Switch problem
I had a P1810 code show up, (P1810 Transmission Fluid Pressure (TFP) Position Switch Circuit TCM)
I read a little about it, and I don't know much about cars, so I hope to get some info before having a mechanic tell me something beyond the real problem.
I noticed a harder shifting occasionally (but I read about this online). curious though, would this problem be associated along with this issue i'm having. when I press the break, the lock disengages in the automatic shifter to allow it to move out of park. Normally in drive, when you press the brake, there is no clicking/disengaging sound coming from the shifter. but after driving a bit, i start to hear the click every time i press the brake... this is when I know that the car will shift into the first 2 gears very firm.
are these 2 things associated?
I brought it to a chain transmission shop, which I shouldn't of... it took them 4 days to get back to me with any answer. they don't seem trustworthy and neither do their yelp reviews. He said he thinks it is the transmission pressure circuit board, which is located inside the transmission and will cost 600$ for them to open it up and look at it.
on my car is this true that it is located inside the transmission and will require a good amount of $ to replace?
2006 Chevy Cobalt LS 2.2
Thanks so much for any help!

What I read in my Haynes manual (not an atuo tranny man)is that codes says pressure switch assymbly malfunction. I say that it is broken, hence the code, and hard to shift into gear. Either way you will have to drop the pan.
so an update, to see if this stuff sounds right....
AAMCO said it was going to be 600$ to open up the transmission, change out the pressure switch and see what other damage is done.
I brought it to another respectable company, 4.5 stars on yelp, etcetc. he seems honest.. says.. the shift solenoid clicking could be a separate issue than with the transmission banging into 2nd gear and giving little power output at times. however, step 1 is to replace that pressure manifold sensor. he said its 162$ in parts for the sensor, fluid and gasket. but its 7.5 hours of labor for 715 for a total of 950ish$.
he said he worked at aamco a long time ago, and they quote you a lower amount, then say you need to repair the whole transmission or get a new one leading to lots more$$$$.
he said something about dropping the chassis. but i have no idea if this is normal.
thoughts ?
thanks.
