Cobalt This sporty compact was faced with the difficult job of replacing the popular Cavalier, but whether the base model, or the supercharged SS is chosen, is has made for a great replacement.

Default 07 chevy cobalt transmission

need to know if ts worth fixing or not..

i have 185,000 with PO741 code and U0073 and PO700

I have drained out transmission oil from pan..filter changed and refilled. still have these codes come up. small metal shavings on magnet nothing large.

Have quotes for around 1800 to replace transmission..

dont know is it really worth it or not..

symptoms....about 45 miles an hour rpms go beyond the 2000( which where it should be shifting and hearing whining noise as well.)

Please help me do the fact trade in value is only about 250-1100 for this vehicle..

wanting to know any fixes or should i just part out with this vehicle..
Thanks,
ap4u0608

Chevy only built the Cobalt for 4 years. Its not really the best vehicle.. That said $ 1800 is a fair price.

So would just replacing the torque converter solenoid and the other 2 solenoids be useful. Change the oil and filter as well, get fluid out of torque converter as well.

i wouldnt waist money on just replacing those solenoids, the amount of work it takes to replace them it might only be a little bit more to replace the whole trans and it would come with a warranty
