My 2006 cobalt has been sitting for a year, put a new battery in it and when I try to state it the motor tries to start but wont. The lil lock symbol is now on. As well I can hear the fuel pump engage and even hear the gas flowing but when I push the Schrader valve...nothing. Oh ya no key, I start it with a flat screwdeiver.

 

the key is transponder...without it, the theft deterrent system won't enable the injectors, starter or maybe the fuel pump
