Cobalt This sporty compact was faced with the difficult job of replacing the popular Cavalier, but whether the base model, or the supercharged SS is chosen, is has made for a great replacement.

Talking 2007 cobalt radio issue

I recently purchased a 2007 cobalt. Love the car so far but I had an interesting issue happen. While starting the car, The FM band radio would not come in on any station. The AM band would play and so would the cd player and aux, but no FM. I turned the car off and restarted and the FM band worked again. This has happened a couple of times. Any body know anything about this???

The FM antenna is separate from the AM antenna. Is the radio factory installed or is it after-market? If they installed a different radio, they may not have connected the antenna correctly. This is just a suggestion, not a diagnosis. If this continues to be a nuisance, I encourage you to stop by your local dealer for an inspection. They should be able to offer a more accurate diagnosis with a physical inspection.

There's only one coax antenna cable into the back of the radio. It sounds like a problem with the radio itself. There have been multiple TSBs on the radio (more like special purpose computers) on the Cobalt over the years. Hopefully it just needs reprogramming rather than replacement.
