Cobalt This sporty compact was faced with the difficult job of replacing the popular Cavalier, but whether the base model, or the supercharged SS is chosen, is has made for a great replacement.

Default Hello - sorry another front end noise question

Hello - sorry another front end noise question

I have a noise coming from the front end when we get to around 25 mph. I've been reading and trying to figure out what the noise is coming from.
Some background -> the car was fine and I took it into a chev dealership to change the oil and move the tires from the back to the front. The tires have been on the car for at least 3 years and I know they were on pretty good by looking the how the lugnuts are now round. After they changed the tires, I started to hear the noise and now it's getting louder. I've been reading several posts trying to narrow down the problem without luck.
Things I've tried;
- spin the tires and hold the spring for any vibration - don't notice any.
- grab the tires and try to move them - no movement.
- drive and turn left and right - noise doesn't go away.
- replaced my front tires (time for new ones anyway) - no different.
- turn hard left and right and listen for popping for the CVT - sounds good.
- drive and put the car into neutral - verified that it's not a transmission issue as the noise didn't go away.

From what I read, it's sometimes hard to determine if it's the wheel hub. If it's not the trans, CVT is it then a wheel hub? I hate to replace parts that don't need to be replaced.

Thanks

is it just a noise or a vibrations? depending on how they rotated the tires, normally the RF goes to the LR and the LF goes to the RR, by doing this your changing the normal direction of the tires and if the tires have developed a slight wear pattern youre going against it and this could cause noise/vibration
