Cobalt This sporty compact was faced with the difficult job of replacing the popular Cavalier, but whether the base model, or the supercharged SS is chosen, is has made for a great replacement.

price was right. 07 ss s/c with 153 000kilometers. for all the used car buyers; I figured it would need 1000$ to fix as most 13yo cars do. After a quick look; problems found were a faulty intercooler pump, cat, resonator, tires, seeping trans at the case maybe???, ,sunroof track, headlight bulb and 3 codes set due to an aftermarket cai?? Not like i need another project. When you are not looking; it finds you.

Nice looking Cobalt, but I still think Chevy should have stuck with the Cavalier. The two I owned were great, but one did need a new fuel pump at 163,000 miles,. Other than that they were great Chevy's. As a tech you know about the issue with the ignition key problem with the Cobalt.

my 05 cav was a great runner. I got 47mpg hwy, imperial gallon. It cornered great on 45 series tires. Repair wise, I only replaced wheel bearings, cluster stepper motors, fuel pump and upper strut bearings. Wasn't burning a drop of oil when i sold it at 250 000ish km Had the worst seats i every sat in and was twitchy at high speed. gm performance had supercharger kits to drop onto a ecotec cavy. There are some nicely done cavy's out there.

this cobalt should be better equipped for speed with the fe5 suspension, limited slip diff, stronger saab trans

google says the governed top speed is 158mph....interesting...seems exaggerated. I'll never even try to confirm it. #1 i need my license for work. 2 a short wheel base car at speed worries me, 3 social responsibility to others safety
