Default P0449 on 09 Cobalt

I bought the Evap Purge Solenoid now i need to know how to replace it. Told it was not hard. Do you unhook the battery

Welcome to the forum. The first thing, you'll want to return that part. P0449 means EVAP Vent Solenoid Control Circuit. For another, more often than not, it's an electrical problem rather than anything to do with the solenoid itself.
