Cobalt This sporty compact was faced with the difficult job of replacing the popular Cavalier, but whether the base model, or the supercharged SS is chosen, is has made for a great replacement.

Default Question about my cobalt....

Normally I drive a standard truck but every once in awhile I drive my other car for which my girlfriend uses primarily. Well every time I drive the car I forget to put it in park before attempting to turn the car off. Will this ruin the car? I personally don't think it will ruin the car but my girlfriend says it does. I need proof that my theory is correct.

Thanks...

Welcome to the forum. You may want just to do what she tells you. You may win an argument now but most females will remember it long after you've forgotten.

It may not ruin the car per say, however, it is unsafe. It could possibly damage the vehicle, depending where you "park". If the vehicle is not set to park when you turn it off, it could roll, which could cause damage to the vehicle and/or other vehicles, people or property. For the safety of you, your vehicle and others, please make sure you set your vehicle to park before leaving it.

I can't think of any reason as to why this would damage the car. Number of problems you've had since you've been doing this...zero?? If there is a reason; I'd love to hear it.
