Default why 180 degree thermostat for 2003 saturn vue w/2.2l w/5 speed
2003 saturn vue w/2.2l and 5 speed . service engine light OBD ll code said thermostat not opening fully. replaced thermostat ( Dumb idea idea for me) from oreillys but learned after installing it was 195 degree. chevrolet says to use 180 degree. will higher temp harm engine

No. I never run 195, but it will be fine. If you are in a cold climate the higher temp tstat will keep your heat higher.
