Default 2015 Colorado transmission bucks

I've been reading online where Chevy discontinued making the Colorado in 2012 along with a lot of bad reviews on transmission problems and began production again in 2015 with a new designed transmission to hopefully correct the problems, guess the new design didn't help much. My 2015 Colorado is beginning to buck when I accelerate from low speed to high speed, or going up a hill, and in windy weather facing the vehicle, sometimes a loud bang with the bucking. Chevy dealer not sure what causes this problem and wants to tear into the transmission to see what may be causing this, said it may be a few worn parts, bad torque converter, or maybe needs a new transmission, could be hundreds or could cost me thousands to fix. You would think after all the bad transmission reviews they would have a recall to fix this problem or come up with a better designed transmission. Has anyone had this problem with their Colorado?

Before going after a POSSIBLE trans problem, are we sure the engine is not breaking down under load?
What kind of maintenance has been done to the engine in the last 3 months?

In the past few months my mechanic had to take off the engine plenum to put new spark plugs in, plus did an oil and filter change, that was it.

I was just at my mechanics shop last week and had them check the transmission fluid, we drained some fluid out to see what it looked like, nice and clean, still reddish in color not milky, no burn smell, and no kind of metal shavings on the drain plug. Put back in new fluid to replace what we drained out, it was the correct fluid, I bought it right from the dealer. Not sure if the transmission filter may be dirty and not getting the correct fluid inside the transmission for it to shift properly, the truck does have 103, 000 miles on it, don't think the filter was ever changed or cleaned. Guess I'll have to make another appointment at the dealer and see if they have any new suggestions, all they tell me is leave the truck and they'll start taking the transmission apart and see if they can find the problem, $$$$$$
