Colorado I-5 Issues
CAn anyone help me here? I owned a 2005 Colorado which I bought new and had no issues with it. I took it to the dealership for a recall issue and a day later I got a SEL with code reading " engine misfire on cyl # 3". The dealer told me it was due to the low compression ratio of the engine and the low octane fuel that I was using that carbon buildup on the valves created this problem. The fix was a head removal and cleaning of the valves at a mere $800-$1000. I had them clear the code and traded it elsewhere the following day. Question is , my friend is looking at a 2011 Colorado with the I5 and asking me for advice. Have they resolved this issue with the I5 or did this problem ever exist in the first place? Any help would be appreciated..........

Newbie here
The 2004-2006 had cylinder head issues on the 5-cylinder, something with the intake seats not being properly hardened. I know 'cause I had a new cylinder head done on my 2005 Canyon, luckily I had the 0 deductable GMPP extended warranty. This issue will cause a skip and a P0300 code.
