Default Colorado Z71 vs. Tacoma TRD: Off-Road Shootout

Like Brett said, this is an interesting match up... But the Toyota is one tough customer. Did you consider a Tacoma before you opted for the Bow Tie? What made the difference?

One of my best friends just bought a Colorado and she loves it. That said, I'd be curious to drive these two back to back.

"Aggressive" off-road trail? The Rubicon trail in Northern California is much more aggressive. I'd like to see a 4WD S-10 Chevy go down this Big Bear trail, or the Rubicon.

I guess these bozo's never heard of lowering the tire pressures on sand hills BEFORE you try to climb them. And back in the day, we punched it over the rocks, sand, mud, whatever, not slo-mo like these two vehicles. Open axles and all too.

As for oil pan punctures, that why we always carried 5 gallons of motor oil and used tree saps and a hammer to pug the hole.

I thought the new Chevy Colorado 4x4's came with electrical lock-up axles? Having locking differentials would make a world of difference. We'd have laughed at this stunt.
