Default fuel pump and high gas consume issues

about chevy colorado 4x2 2.9 l 2007 aut. 95000 mi
#1 when the truck is parking 4 hours or more, the engine starts rough by 10 or 15 seconds then runs fine, so i had review the pressure gas with a gauge and after a few minutes with vehicle turned off the pressure of gas goes down, i tried of open and close switch a few times before engine but the problem remains.

#2 after of the last maintenance service the consume of gas increase, actually 14 mi/gl before 22 mi/gl, so what items i have to review it to fix this issue?

i appreciate your aportation.

The hard starting is caused by the check valve in the fuel pump is bad. You can replace the the fuel pump or add a check valve in the fuel line, which is what I did. The high gas consumption is probably caused by a bad fuel pressure regulator or a bad injector. Is the check engine light on? This will lead you in the right direction if it is on.

The check valve is easy to install. I got mine on Ebay. Make sure you get one that is rated for gas. I cut the steel fuel line near the tank and connected the check valve with rubber fuel hose and hose clamps. It worked great. Just make sure the fuel hose you get is rated for fuel injection.

finally i got to scan my chevy and the codes registered are:

p0741 tcc stuck off
p0128 low coolant temperature
p1400 this code referes to hard starting

according with your experience, what code is priority? also if i need to review for example the thermostat how could i test it? before to replace it.

thanks
