Stalling and flickering power
hey all. i need some help with my 2004 colorado. yesterday i took a turn into a chicfila drive through and the truck cut off. kicked my sub (150 watt amp) and everything and nothing would come on until i turned the key off and back on. so i started it and drove thru the dt and parked it. i replaced the battery in case that was the issue but its not. what is happening is when i turn it on the starter kicks over and starts the engine just fine but everything on the interior is flickering and cutting on and off. i was able to drive it about 10 mins home and parked it. some times the wngine cuts off as well. it seems as though the parking brake and regular brake pedal affect it as well. sometimes when i press the brake pedal everything turns off and same thing with the parking brake. i just replaced the brake light switch a few days ago and now this is happening. i also disabled the pass lock system about five months ago but i dont know why it would be doing this now. any help is greatly appreciated. UPDATE: i figured out that the flickering power was a short somewhere in the drls and front blinkers so i took out the fuse and ran wires from the rear blinkers to the fronts and now its not flickering and runs fine but when i turn the headlights on it just kills the gauges. the rpm goes to zero and the gas goes to e even though i have gas in it and its still running. could it be maybe a short in the headlight switch or maybe a bad relay or something?
