I bought my Colorado V8 new with a tow package which I thought included a trans. cooler. After conversing on another forum, I found out that it doesn't. Talked to my dealer who said that GM does not make one for this truck, that he could install a aftermarket cooler. How can they say that this truck can tow 6000 lbs. when they don't even make a trans. cooler for it.

 

What model year vehicle do you have? I would like to check into this for you.

Ok. I checked through my resources and I do show that your truck can tow up to 6000 pounds. The only stipulation is that this is done with the automatic transmission. It does not require a transmission cooler to do so and I do not see that a transmission cooler was an option and was unable to find information on a transmission cooler accessory that we offer for this model year vehicle. Jeff: Thanks for the reply. It just seems strange that when you purchase the towing package that you don't get a trans. cooler with that package and you do get it with the full size truck. Ken

 

I can understand the frustration you would feel with thinking the package would come with something and then finding out that it doesn't. Let me explain the package a little bit better for you. The towing package or Z82 package for the Colorado includes a hitch (with weight distributing platform) and wiring harness. That is all that is included. I apologize if this was not explained to you when you purchased your vehicle.
