Question Why No 4WD Indicator Light

Does anyone else find it odd that the 2017 Colorado does not have any indicator light on the dashboard or information screen to warn you that you are in 4WD mode? The little light on the selector dial is not even visible as the steering wheel blocks it.
Considering the fact that the information display even has a blank page, why not make it a BIG warning message?

I have the same concern.

Hopefully it can be corrected with a software update.

That was what I was thinking also. Considering the fact that you can do major damage to drivetrain components if engaged on bare roads, it should be one. Every other 4WD truck I ever owned had an indicator.

we aren't the first owners to discuss this issue. Where do you think the best place to try and get GM to fix would be? Local service techs or GM national?

I would think that it would have to travel up the chain until it got to the right department. I am going to mention it when mine goes in for it's first routine servicing. I am sure dealers have a route available to them to report issues found in the design. I am not holding out a lot of hope for a fix though, seeing as it is not a safety related defect.
