My 1997 C5 Corvettes Tremec T-56 6-speed manual transmission once in a while when shifting down to or out of first locks up, or something seizes solid like the internals welded together.

Engaging clutch and wiggling shifter fixed it eventually. Any ideas, this hapoens rarely but I am sure it will cause major damage eventually.
