Default Gas Gauge

My gas gauge acted funny some time ago, (2 years?), anyway, it went away after I filled it up.

Two days ago I filled it again, and it didn't quite act right...it showed about 7/8 full, and then over the next 12 miles slowly worked toward full. It is working OK now. I know that this is a common problem in the C5s, but I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck fixing it. I have been told that the brand of gas makes a difference, but that doesn't seem to matter to me as I'm not loyal to a brand. Here in AZ (recently moved here) they only have 91 octane anyway.

I've heard that Shell gas has an additive that causes the types of issues youmentioned. Ammaco or Chevron are supposed to be better.

Have to tried changing the sening unit in the tank? The 84 has a float connected to it and sometimes it hangs after years of use.

Default RE: Gas Gauge

You can put water in your tank and the gauge will still show a reading...doesnt have anything to do with the gas...you can replace the gauge if the delay really bothers you but it sounds like its works fine to me.
