Question Gm nav

C6, 06. GM nav added to system. Has worked well until one month ago then various features stopped functioning. Have been to numerous dealers and no one in the Washington DC metropolitan area can solve. Can this unit be re-booted or programmed like a PC? Techs do not seem to know how or if this can be done. Anyone with nav experience? Any help appreciated. Thanks for the consideration

I no longer have the recalculate route when off course. I have lost 4 of the areas on the menu when en route when it goes to multiple screens. Do not have the directions turn list.
I am using version 4.0 and have tried version 1.0. This makes no difference.

My first thought would be to check the dvd. dirty, smudged, scratched, fingerprints or just plain defective are a few things that can go wrong. Was a new map dvd tried yet?
Next thing to check is to see if the VSS circuit is still working at the rear of the radio. Could be a broken\corroded connection.
Does the radio get a good GPS signal? there should be a small white box in the upper left corner that reads "GPS" with red diagnal line through it if the GPS signal is not being recieved.

What have the dealers tried already?

The GPS signal is good no red diagonal. I have tried three different DVD versions. I understand there is a reprogram DVD that is used only in the 05 nav system. Checked with my local GM dealer and they have never heard of such a thing. Thought maybe this would work. All connections checked. GM dealer in FL told me of the 05 nav reprogram DVD. Will be there next week and will check this out.
Thanks for your assistance thus far

If no outside problems have been found, and there is no update for the radio, the problem could be a bad radio
