Removing Battery in cold weather

Default Removing Battery in cold weather
I take my 08 off the road for the winter but have no luck in removing the battery as the cables and battery in holder area seem to have no give. Could this be from the cold weather and the materials becoming more rigid?

Anybody encounter this problem? Potential solutions?
