tranny swap on 1990 corvette
I have my eye on a 1990 corvette with a bad transmission. The seller says it is stuck in second gear. If it is a "easy" fix (stuck solenoid, electrical problem, etc) I will leave the stock tranny.
However if it turns out the trans need replaced, I would REALLY like to put in a standard. Does anybody know what type of standard trans I can put it and where I might be able to find a conversion kit?
Also I read those had the 700r4 in them. Can I use any 700r4? I remeber I once tried a 4l60e from a camaro to replace the 4l60e in my silv and it didnt work. Is it a similar situation with the vettes? What vehicles have compatible trannys?
Thx all much

4L60E to T56 conversion instructions for 1994-1997 LT-1
I'm guessing some corvette guys have such a write up some where.

94 silv, not sure of camaro. Early 90s definetly. It didnt work because the spline patterns on the TC were different. So I went back and got a camaro TC to fit the tranny and then discovered the bolt pattern on the flex plate was different. Very upsetting
Thanks for the resources. Ill give them a read
