The Replacement engine for the Z06 is all together, cleaned up, and ready to go in the car. It will have the dry sump oiling system. It will use the LS7 intake manifold. The LS7 engine covers will fit. And because of the crankshaft we are using we even get to keep and use the LS7 underdrive pulley the blown-up engine had, the ATI super damper.

This engine will be no slouch. It has all the right specs. 10.8:1 static compression. The camshaft has 232/246 duration with .595/.578 lift. The PAC dual valve springs have an open spring pressure of 415 lb. @ .660" lift and are being held down with titanium retainers. The rockers have the trunnion upgrade, the pushrods are oversized @ 11/32 diameter, and in between the cam and pushrods are LS7 lifters. The long snout LS3 crankshaft is forged. All the engine's bearings have been changed. This motor has ARP hardware on the connecting rods, camshaft sprocket, and cylinder heads. In between the heads and block are 7-layer .055" compressed thickness LS9 head gaskets..

We have finished the Z06 engine swap and are happy with the end result.

Could you see any indication of why the rear main seal was leaking?

No obvious cause that I saw. No tear or crease or deformation or break in the seal. But it's back together, sounds great, and doesn't leak anymore. Who could ask for more?

This car is just amazing to look at. Here it is at the end of the street tuning. The wideband 02 sensor harness can be seen hanging down from the passenger door. This 2008 Z06 has 117k miles on the odometer..

So the blemish below that fog light was really bringing down the picture. While this touch up could easily happen on vehicle we decided to remove the fascia for it to keep any overspray away from the headlight lenses and the rims and rest of the car..

And the scratch is gone..

Up next we need to get this beast on a dyno and find out what this motor is worth.

While a complete respray is the best way to correct the blemish, have you heard of Dr Color Chip?
