I can completely relate to what you're going through. My girlfriend bought a Cruze in October 2010 and has a lot of issues with the transmission and other various things. She recently had her steering wheel fixed due to the recall on that as well.

The car does not ride well. We had the computer reprogrammed due to rough shifting but it has yet to be resolved. It's still rough and I just don't like the overall feel of the car.

I am very disappointed in Chevrolet as a whole. I understand cars will have their issues, but the Cruze is clearly having much more than I've ever seen (I've owned brand new Honda's, Toyota's and Chevrolet).

I totally agree! First-major transmission issues.Next-on a busy freeway, went to pass,RPMs shot up,check engine light came on & it was like slamming the brakes on!Never did get an answer as to why it did that. Now key sticking in ignition, hard to turn on(tried both keys) and made a horrid squeal today..now what!Totally let down & not trusting car-which has 2500 km on it!

The 2011 LS has major problems-check out the cruze facebook page.I can honestly say it's the worst car I've ever owned.(and I loved my chevy Vega, chevette,& cavalier-so I'm not really picky!) Even after new software, tranny is odd, jerky & hesitant. Key now binds in ignition.Found out yesterday-really good at hydroplaning(big tires)Apparently 2012 is better,so GM is aware of problems, but chooses to do nothing.DO NOT BUY!!!

@gigahurtz, I have read your post about your girlfriend's Cruze. When was the last time that she had the vehicle into the dealership for the rough shifting?

She's had it serviced multiple times in the last few months, the last time was a week or two ago (late September). They stated they "updated" the software on the transmission but "that's just the way the new 6 speed transmission is".

Mine has been in 6 times in 2 months-not what you'd expect with a new vehicle. On one visit I was actually given lessons on how to shift(an automatic-really??)A bit better with updated software, but overall an unpleasant ride.Still jerky & hesitant.Wish I could afford to trade it in-but for first time in my life, will be looking at other car brands when I do.

I am a Honda guy and was actually considering a Chevrolet as my next vehicle when my girlfriend purchased her Cruze. I liked the new line up and saw that Chevrolet came a long way.

Unfortunately, after this experience with her Cruze and the issues she's had with her transmission and the fact that NO ONE wants to help, I will continue to purchase Honda's.

well my wife new 2011 Cruze LS is starting to show that sticky transmission , seem like GM didn`t quite figure how to build a automatic transmission with more then 4 gears forward, service appointment set for Monday and from what i know about GM train "technicians" at the dealerships i`m very skeptic about this car being fixed, but my wife love the shape and the interior of this GARBAGE !
After everything i have read here i`m really thinking in an engine and transmission swap with a honda or toyota engine and transmission ! GM AMERICA SHOULD GO OVERSEES IN EUROPE AND LEARN HOW TO BUILD RELIABLE CARS! GM EUROPE IS BUILDING BULET PROOF CARS LIKE OPEL LINEUP
